The Chico Airport Commission  Announces New Airport Manager

In her new role, Miller will manage, plan, and direct airport operations, maintenance, construction, economic development, marketing, and long term planning activities; implement policies and procedures; ensure compliance; and develop programs and strategies to maximize the potential of the Chico Municipal Airport as a municipal enterprise.

Miller has worked in the aviation industry for more than 30 years at 11 airports, and directly managing nine of those. Among other aviation related jobs, Miller has been airport safety and security coordinator at Tahoe, customer service assistant at Oxford (England) Aviation Training; acting director of airports/principal airport manager and assistant airport manager for San Diego County; operations and customer service agent for Alaska Airlines; customer service for Golden Gate Aviation; and a ferry pilot for Western Sun Aviation.

She is the president of Association of California Airports and she has a master of public administration and a bachelor’s degree in aviation management.

“She’s really a gem. To be able to capture her is good news for Chico,” said Mark Orme, Chico City Manager. “She can be a huge asset to us.”
