The Florida Airports Council Announces  New Appointment for President/Chief Executive Officer

In this position, Waters will be responsible for the overall administrative responsibility for the operation of the Florida Airports Council, including the development and recommendation of long and short term administrative programs and policies to the Board, and overseeing the financial activities of the Council.  Waters will also be responsible for formulating and maintaining an annual budget of approximately one million dollars for the operation of the Council and for overseeing the FAC Education Foundation, which includes the internship grant program, scholarship program, and student chapters.

Since beginning her career in 1985, Waters has gained extensive experience in the administration and conduct of Florida aviation projects, and the development and administration of public policy related to airports and airport operations.

Most recently, Waters was an Associate Partner and Senior Aviation Planner with Hanson Professional Services, Inc. Prior to Hanson, Waters was the President/Co-Owner and Senior Aviation Planner with the MEA Group, Inc. after serving  as the Director of Noise Abatement and Technical Services with the Palm Beach County Department of Airports for 10 years.

Waters holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Aviation Management and an Associate of Science degree in Air Commerce/Flight Technology from the Florida Institute of Technology, and is an instrument trained commercial pilot.
