The Jackson Municipal Airport Authority Announces  New Appointment for Chief Executive Officer

In his role, Newman will have the responsibility to plan, direct, manage and oversee all activities and operations of the Jackson Municipal Airport Authority; to establish goals and objectives for airport operations; to coordinate airport activities and operations with administrators and officials of the counties and city; and to provide highly responsible and complex administrative support to the Jackson Municipal Airport Authority Board.

Most recently, Newman served with the Houston Airport System as the General Manager of Bush Intercontinental Airport. Prior to that, he served for 32 years at the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, holding several positions including Assistant Aviation Director and Deputy Aviation Director.

Mr. Newman holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Administration from the University of Arizona and a Masters of Aeronautical Science degree from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. He is an Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E.) through the American Association of Airport Executives and a member of the National Forum for Black Public Administrators (NFBPA).
