The Kansas City Aviation Department Names New Deputy Director of Marketing & Air Service Development

Meyer is an airport executive with 15 years of experience in the aviation industry; six of those years serving as the Manager of Air Service Development with the Kansas City Aviation Department.
In his most recent position, Meyer served as the Director of Air Service Development with the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority in Tampa, FL. While there, he was called upon to direct the implementation and execution of Tampa International’s air service development plan, including management of the airport’s multi-million dollar incentive program. He also identified new route opportunities, fostered discussions with target airlines and developed the air service budget to support these efforts. While in Tampa, Meyer successfully recruited both Copa Airlines and Alaska Airlines and worked with existing carriers to launch 12 nonstop routes. These accomplishments were acknowledged earlier this year when Tampa was named the winner of the 2014 Routes Marketing Award - Americas.

Meyer received his Aviation Management Degree from the Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, Florida.

Meyer is an FAA Certified Flight Instructor and has presented at AAAE, ACI-NA, and Routes events on topics including air service development, communications and marketing. He was recognized by Airport Business Magazine as a member of their 2012 ‘40 Under 40’ class, and actively participates as a member of the ACI-NA Marketing & Communications Steering Group.
