The Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport Authority Announces Selection of Deputy Director
Under the direction of the Executive Director, O’Neill is responsible for the administration and managerial duties overseeing and guiding departments and special projects to ensure that the policies and objectives of Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport Authority (PMGAA) are achieved in a safe, effective, efficient, and professional manner.
In his role as Deputy Director, O’Neill directs and supports the daily operations of major support and operating functions of the Airport; supervises staff and activities of various departments; identifies, analyses, and executes policies, programs, and procedures to enhance the operation and efficiency of Gateway; assists the leadership team in formulating business strategy and assumes the responsibilities of the Executive Director during their absence.
As an executive-level aviation professional, O’Neill has over twenty years of experience in maintaining and managing airports, most recently at the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT) where he was the Deputy Airport Director for eight years after serving as their Assistant Airport Director- Business Development, Marketing and Public Relations for eleven years.

O’Neill holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of New Hampshire in Durham, NH and a Master’s of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Southern New Hampshire University. He is also an accredited airport executive (A.A.E.) through the American Association of Airport Executives.
O’Neill is married with four children and enjoys a variety of outdoor activities with his family.
