The North County Transit District Names Alex Denis, CPPO, as Chief Procurement Officer

OCEANSIDE, CA – The North County Transit District, the agency responsible for public transportation in North San Diego County, California, has named Alex Denis, CPPO, as Chief Procurement Officer. In this position, Mr. Denis will provide leadership and oversight for the District’s procurement and contract administration functions. Mr. Denis began his new role on May 13, 2024.

Mr. Denis has more than 25 years of experience in public sector procurement with over 15 years at the senior level. Most recently, he was Director and Chief Procurement Officer for The City of Miami Beach, Florida. In that role, he led all areas of procurement for the municipal government, serving over 96,000 residents and 14 million domestic and international visitors annually. He has also held the titles of Vice President for Operations and Chief Procurement Officer for Broward College.

“I am excited to join the NCTD team,” said Mr. Denis. “I look forward to working with the entire team to serve our ridership through a customer focus, maximizing resources, innovative practices, and the highest ethical standards.”

Mr. Denis received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Florida International University. He went on to earn his master’s degree in Business Administration and a doctorate degree in Organizational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. Mr. Denis is certified as a Public Purchasing Officer (CPPO) by the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing.
