ADK Works With The City of Albuquerque, Aviation Department to Recruit Aviation Director

ADK Consulting & Executive Search, a retained recruitment firm known for its expertise in senior executive searches in the aviation industry, announced the successful placement of Manny Manriquez, C.M., as Aviation Director for The City of Albuquerque, Aviation Department. In this role, Mr. Manriquez will serve as the chief executive responsible for the leadership, management, and long-term development of Albuquerque International Sunport, a medium-hub commercial service airport and the largest multimodal facility in New Mexico, and Double Eagle II Airport, a key general aviation facility serving the Albuquerque region.
Mr. Manriquez brings extensive experience in public affairs, government relations, executive leadership, strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement. He joined the City of Albuquerque, Aviation Department in 2022 and has served as Acting Aviation Director since 2025. During his tenure with the department, he has also held the positions of Deputy Director of Aviation and Innovation & Commercial Development Manager. Previously, Mr. Manriquez served as General Director for the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association and as a Nuclear Security Fellow with the Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration.
Mr. Manriquez said that he is not only fired up to be serving as Director of Aviation, overseeing the operations of this world-class medium hub airport, but also “feels blessed to do be able to do so in his hometown of Albuquerque. Our GA reliever airport Double Eagle II is such a gem as well. There’s a lot of untapped potential at both airports, and my mission over the coming years is to bring that potential to light and ensure that the wonderful people I lead in this department experience the joy of delivering even more for our community.”
Mr. Manriquez earned his bachelor’s degree in Political Science & Asian Studies from the University of California and went on to earn his master’s degree in Security Studies from Georgetown University. He is a Certified Member (C.M.) of the American Association of Airport Executives.
