September 12, 2023
LONG BEACH, CA – Gale LaRoche, PhD, JD, SHRM-SCP, Senior Human Resources Consultant for ADK, will be presenting during the ACI-NA Annual Conference to be held September 30 – October 3, 2023. This year’s conference will be held at the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center.
Gale’s presentation, titled “Making it All Work: Labor Legal Issues,” will be held on October 1 at 1:15 pm PST. She will focus on some of the labor issues facing airports today, including free speech, worker safety, worker shortages, and benefit and wage requirements. While U.S. airports can generally restrict speech and expressive activity within the confines of constitutional law, activity involving unions and organizing may implicate other legal principles. Her presentation will also address how airports can contractually protect their operations from labor disruptions and what recent legislative initiatives and court cases tell us about the ability of the airport sponsor to mandate certain wages and benefits for workers.
Other ADK team members attending the event include Doug Kuelpman, President and CEO; Annell Kuelpman, Executive Vice President and COO; Blake Astran, JD, VP, Business Operations; Ann Roberts, Director, Marketing & Research; Kenneth Gwyn, A.A.E., Senior Project Manager; Dan Sprinkle, A.A.E., Senior Project Manager; and Theresia Schatz, A.A.E., Senior Consultant.
