GULF SHORES, AL – The Gulf Shores International Airport has named Jesse Fosnaugh, A.A.E., as the new Airport Director. Mr. Fosnaugh brings more than 18 years of airport management experience to the role, with a proven track record of driving growth and development at airports across the country. He will begin his new role on December 30, 2024.

Mr. Fosnaugh’s appointment comes as the Gulf Shores International Airport embarks on an exciting new chapter in its transition from a general aviation airport to a commercial airport. His deep understanding of FAA rules and regulations, coupled with his extensive experience in managing airport growth and development – including building and operating a commercial service airport from the ground up in his role as Airport Deputy Director for Branson Airport in Missouri and securing key grants and contracts to fuel business growth – make him the ideal candidate to lead this transition.

“Jesse’s extensive experience in airport management, particularly his success in growing commercial service airports, aligns perfectly with our vision for Gulf Shores International Airport,” said Gulf Shores Mayor Robert Craft. “His strong leadership skills, combined with his commitment to building strong relationships with stakeholders, will be invaluable as we navigate this exciting new chapter.”

Throughout his career, Fosnaugh has demonstrated a passion for aviation and a dedication to inspiring the next generation of airport professionals. In addition to his executive roles, he has served as an adjunct professor of aviation and led numerous airport education tours to give students a behind-the-scenes look at airport operations.

“I am thrilled to join the Gulf Shores International Airport team and contribute to the airport’s exciting growth and development plans,” said Mr. Fosnaugh. “I look forward to working closely with the Airport Authority, the City of Gulf Shores, and the FAA to make this vision a reality.”

Mr. Fosnaugh received a bachelor’s degree in aviation science and administration from Western Michigan University and will graduate with an MBA in airport management from the University of Central Missouri in December 2024. He is an Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E.) of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) and a licensed private pilot.
