The Shreveport Airport Authority Announces Selection of Director of Airports

In his new role, Thompson is the chief executive officer of the Authority and is fully responsible for directing the activities and operations at the Shreveport Regional Airport (SHV) and the Shreveport Downtown Airport (DTN). Thompson will work closely with and attend staff meetings of the Chief Administrative Officer of the City of Shreveport, maintain an open and working relationship with the City’s Personnel Director and interact with other City Officials and departmental personnel.

Thompson is a senior-level aviation professional with 30 years of experience in airport operations, safety, security and management. Most recently, he served as the associate deputy airport director with the San Francisco Airport Commission. Thompson was at SFO for over 22 years.

Thompson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the National University in San Diego, CA, and a Master of Business Administration, Finance degree from the Golden Gate University in San Francisco. Thompson is an accredited airport professional (A.A.E.) from the American Association of Airport Executives and holds an International Airport Professional (IAP) designation from Airports Council International.
