Nino Sapone Named Deputy Airport Director, Operations by Bishop International Airport Authority

FLINT, MI – Bishop International Airport Authority has appointed Nino Sapone as the new Deputy Airport Director, Operations & Maintenance. In this position, Mr. Sapone is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the day-to-day activities of all maintenance, operations, engineering, and public safety functions of the Airport Authority. He began his new position March 11, 2019.
Mr. Sapone has more than 26 years of progressive experience in strategic planning, business development, and 20 years with project management/systems engineering strategies. He has worked for the Pittsburgh International Airport since 1996, most recently serving as Vice President, Airport Operations, Plans and Programs.

Mr. Sapone received a bachelor’s degree in Education from California University of Pennsylvania and is an accredited member (A.A.E.) of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE). He is Past President of the Northeast Chapter of AAAE and is AAAE ARFF Chair.
