Cyrus brings more than 27 years of award-winning aviation leadership experience to ADK, with expertise spanning airport management and operations, strategic planning, air service development, commercial and economic development, regulatory compliance and business development. His career spans multiple sizes of commercial and general aviation airports.

Prior to joining ADK, Cyrus served as Director of Aviation and Economic Resources for Volusia County, Florida, where he was the County’s top aviation official, overseeing Daytona Beach International Airport (DAB) and the County’s economic development initiatives, including a $57 million airport operating budget and an $11 million economic development budget. Under his leadership, DAB earned the Florida Department of Transportation’s Commercial Service Airport of the Year award in 2021 and 2024, expanded nonstop destinations from two to 11, and added three new airlines. He played a key role in recruiting major aviation investments, including Boeing’s Air Dominance Division and French manufacturer Aura Aero, creating large economic benefit to Daytona Beach.

Cyrus spent 13 years with the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority, advancing through leadership roles at Orlando International Airport (MCO) and Orlando Executive Airport (ORL). As Director of Orlando Executive Airport and General Aviation, he oversaw operations, capital development and commercial properties, and was named FAA Southern Region General Aviation Manager of the Year in 2019.

Earlier, Cyrus worked in airport operations with the Jacksonville Aviation Authority and spent over 12 years as an Adjunct Professor of Aviation Management at Everglades University.

Cyrus is widely respected across the industry, with an extensive professional network built over his career. He served as Chair of the AAAE Board of Examiners for six years. During his tenure as chair, he spearheaded an initiative that resulted in the highest number of A.A.E.s since the program’s inception.

Cyrus holds a Master of Commercial Aviation, with Distinction, from Delta State University and a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Management from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. He is an Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E.), Airport Certified Employee (ACE) and holds the Master of Commercial Aviation (MCA) credential.

Cyrus and his wife Sally, reside outside of the Greater Cincinnati metro area. He is a proud father of three adult sons and an infant baby girl. Cyrus is a diehard soccer fan, who plays and watches whenever he can.
