Dan joined ADK in 2018, bringing more than 35 years of leadership and operational experience in the aviation industry. He began his career in the United States Air Force as a Crew Chief on F-15 aircraft before advancing through increasingly responsible roles at Southern Illinois Airport, Stapleton International Airport, and Denver International Airport (DEN).

Before joining ADK, Dan retired from the City and County of Denver as Vice President of Operations at Denver International Airport, where he oversaw one of the nation’s busiest and most complex airport operations. In this role, he led large teams, managed multimillion-dollar budgets and contracts, and directed critical operational functions that supported the airport’s continued growth and success.

Known for his collaborative leadership style, Dan believes lasting partnerships are built through open communication, active listening, and a shared understanding of project goals. He is passionate about continuous improvement and encourages individuals and organizations to challenge themselves, embrace innovation, and pursue excellence.

A respected educator and speaker, Dan is a full-time faculty member and professor at the Metropolitan State University of Denver, where he teaches aviation courses and manages student opportunities through internships and scholarships. He regularly leads workshops on public speaking, leadership, and professional development for airport and aviation professionals across the United States and internationally.

Dan is an Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E.) and has served on the Board of Directors for the Northwest Chapter of AAAE. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management from Southern Illinois University and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Project Management from Regis University.

Outside of his professional work, Dan enjoys mentoring future aviation leaders and is the proud father of two sons.
