Kim Kenville brings more than three decades of expertise in airport management, aviation education, research, and consulting to her role as Consultant for ADK Consulting & Executive Search.
A professor at the University of North Dakota (UND) for more than 27 years, Kim has led the airport management curriculum and played a pivotal role in developing UND’s Master of Aviation and Aerospace Sciences and Ph.D. programs. She holds a Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior and Leadership and previously served as the aviation department’s graduate director for a decade.
A nationally recognized aviation expert, Kim has authored or co-authored 12 Airport Cooperative Research Program (ACRP) reports on topics such as employee resiliency, airport mutual aid, emergency communication, terminal response, aviation education, and funding strategies. She has chaired multiple ACRP panels, contributed to the National Academies’ Aviation Gasoline consensus study, and currently serves on the FAA’s Research, Engineering, and Development Advisory Committee (REDAC). She is a member of the e ACRP Oversight Committee (AOC) appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Transportation and served as Vice Chair from 2024 to 2025.
Kim is also a three-term, governor-appointed member of the North Dakota Aeronautics Commission and currently serves as its Chair (2024–2026). She is deeply involved with the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE), serving as Dean of Accreditation, supporting candidates through the accreditation process, and training future airport leaders through AAAE’s Airport 101, Airport Board Orientation, and Certified Member (CM) programs. Kim Kenville Consulting (KKC) is a certified Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) in North Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Maine.
Earlier in her career, Kim held operational roles at Detroit Metropolitan (DTW) and Milwaukee Mitchell (MKE) airports and served as a noise abatement intern at Minneapolis–St. Paul (MSP) Airport. A private pilot and Certified Member of AAAE, Kim brings a practitioner’s insight and an educator’s dedication to every project she supports.
Kim and her husband, Jon Scraper, live in North Dakota and have five adult children. Kim’s favorite thing is spending time at their lake cabin where they pontoon around the lake, looking for wildlife. They have a swan family and several loon pairs, bald eagles, deer, and the occasional black bear! She also loves watching her alma mater, UND, play hockey, and beating her husband at cribbage whenever she can.
