The City of Brownsville Appoints Angel Ramos, A.A.E., Airport Director

BROWNSVILLE, TX – The City of Brownsville has named Angel Ramos, A.A.E., Airport Director for the Brownsville/South-Padre Island International Airport (BRO). In this position, he will manage and direct all functions of the airport, including operations, maintenance and security and the airport’s budget and capital improvement program. He began his new role on February 20, 2024.

Mr. Ramos brings a strong aviation leadership background to this position. Most recently, he was President of North Haven Consulting, providing a wide array of airport advisory services. Previously, he was Vice President – Planning and Development at CVG Airport Authority where he led a team of 22 staff members responsible for Planning, Design, Construction and Environmental activities and overseeing significant projects, including the Terminal Modernization Program. Mr. Ramos has also held the positions of Senior Project Manager – Aviation with AECOM; Assistant Airport Director of Planning & Engineering with St. Louis Lambert International Airport; and Airport Engineer with Spirt of St. Louis Airport.

Mr. Ramos earned a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico and went on to receive a master’s degree in Civil Engineering from Michigan State University. He is an Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E.) with the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) and an International Airport Professional (IAP) with the Airports Council International – North America.  He is also a Professional Engineer (P.E.).
