The City of Buckeye Appoints Scott Gray as Aviation Director

BUCKEYE, AZ – The City of Buckeye has named Scott Gray Aviation Director of Buckeye Municipal Airport (BXK). In this position, Mr. Gray will be responsible for all operational and administrative functions of the airport including personnel, insurance, risk protection, community outreach, property and business development, and implementing programs for the rental of terminal space, airport property and buildings. He began his new position on November 13, 2023.

Mr. Gray has a strong background in airport management, administration, development, planning, and staff development. Most recently, he was Airport Director for Denton Enterprise Airport where he was responsible for the day-to-day management, operations, and planning of the 7th busiest airport in the State of Texas. He also held the titles of Airport Manager and Director – Airport & Facilities Management. Mr. Gray has also served as Airport Executive Director for Washington County Airport; Director, Airport Management Services for L.R. Kimball; and Aviation Director for Scottsdale Airport.

“The City of Buckeye has experienced significant economic growth and city leadership is focused on providing an airport that can support this growth and all facets of aviation users,” said Mr. Gray. “I am excited to assist City Manager Daniel Cotterman and his team in guiding and setting a vision for the Buckeye Municipal Airport. I look forward to working with the City Council, citizens and airport users in creating an exciting future for the airport.”

Mr. Gray earned his bachelor’s degree in Airway Science Management from Arizona State University. He is a Certified Member (C.M.) of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) and a Certified Airport Executive (C.A.E.) through the Southwest Chapter of AAAE.
