The City of Dallas Names Patrick Carreno as Director of Aviation

DALLAS, TX – The City of Dallas has named Patrick Carreno Director of Aviation overseeing Dallas Love Field (DAL), Dallas Executive Airport (RBD) and the Dallas Vertiport (JDB). In this position, he will be responsible for aviation operations, administration, and personnel management, and ensuring the Airport’s effectiveness and efficiency. He began his new position on August 1, 2023.

Mr. Carreno had served as Interim Director since November 2022. Previously he was Assistant Director of Operations and oversaw Airport Security, Airside Operations, and Landside Operations including Terminal Operations and Passenger Support, Ground Transportation, Emergency Management, Transportation Regulation, and the Airport Operations Center divisions.

I’m looking forward to continuing to work with the community and the Airports’ stakeholders to keep the momentum at Dallas Love Field and Dallas Executive Airport going.”

Before joining the City of Dallas, Mr. Carreno was Vice President of Airport Operations for Pittsburgh International Airport. He was responsible for oversight of Airport Operations, Field Maintenance, and Security Departments. Including his time in Pittsburgh, Mr. Carreno has over 20 years of aviation experience in various roles at airports and with an airline. He served in leadership and management roles at Oakland International Airport, Stockton Metropolitan Airport, City of Fort Worth, Midland International Airport, and with Allegiant Airlines Corporate Office in Las Vegas.

Mr. Carreno graduated from The Florida Institute of Technology with a bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management. He also holds a commercial pilots license.
