The City of Renton Appoints Steven Gleason as Airport Director

RENTON, WA – The City of Renton has named Steven Gleason as Airport Director of Renton Municipal Airport (RNT). As Airport Director, Mr. Renton will oversee strategic and program planning, policy development and implementation, and establish and maintain communicative relations with airport tenants, state, and federal agencies. He began his position on June 1, 2022.
Mr. Gleason previously was the Airport Manager for Provo Airport in Utah, where he brought the airport its first commercial air service and recruited more than 1,000 new jobs. While there, he developed two airport master plans, an interim passenger terminal at no cost to the city through a public-private partnership and recruited two airlines serving 14 destinations as the first ever airline service out of Provo.
“I’m excited to take on this position and join the Renton Municipal Airport team,” said Mr. Renton. “I recognize the important role the airport plays for the City of Renton and the surrounding community.”
Mr. Gleason earned his bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Brigham Young University and went on to earn his master’s in Public Administration. He is also certified as an Airport Security Coordinator.
