The England Authority Announces Ralph Hennessy, C.M., as Executive Director

ALEXANDRIA, LA – The England Authority has named Ralph Hennessy, C.M., as Executive Director for the England Airpark/Alexandria International Airport (AEX). Mr. Hennessy will serve as the chief executive officer of the England Economic & Industrial Development District (England Authority) and will be responsible for the overall direction and management of the organization including operational, technical and professional areas. In addition, he will work closely with the Board of Commissioners to create and implement strategic initiatives and plans designed to meet Authority objectives. Mr. Hennessy began his new position on December 19, 2022.

Mr. Hennessy brings more than twenty years of aviation experience to this position. Most recently, he was Regional Aviation Practice Lead with Michael Baker International where he was responsible for overseeing and leading the growth of the aviation practice for Louisiana and Mississippi. Previously, he worked for Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport where he held increasingly responsible positions, including Director of Aviation. He also worked at New Orleans International Airport.

“The England Airpark has great potential, and it will be exciting to help administer the region’s vision of the Airpark by bringing new jobs to the area through our economic development endeavors,” said Mr. Hennessy.  “I’m excited to join the staff of the England Airpark and am looking forward to working with the people in the Alexandria area to bring new businesses to the Airpark.”

Mr. Hennessy earned his bachelor’s degree in Professional Aviation/Airport Management from Louisiana Tech University. He is also a Certified Member (C.M.) of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) and is Past President of the Louisiana Airport Managers & Associates.
