The Hillsborough County Aviation Authority Announces Matthew Bauer as Vice President, Procurement

TAMPA, FL – The Hillsborough County Aviation Authority has named Matthew Bauer as Vice President, Procurement. In this role, Mr. Bauer will be responsible for the direct and indirect procurement and supply chain management including inventory and warehousing for the Authority. He began his new position in September 2021.

Mr. Bauer has over 13 years of experience in government procurement, with the last ten years in a leadership role. Most recently he was the Procurement Administrator for the City of Mesa, Arizona where he directed the City’s Purchasing Division. While in that position, he was able to develop new business opportunities and identify ways to generate income to help the Purchasing Division earn more revenue than it had expenses.

Prior to joining the City of Mesa, Mr. Bauer worked for Maricopa County, Arizona as County Procurement Supervisor and Procurement Consultant.

Mr. Bauer earned his bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management from Arizona State University and went on to earn a Master of Business Administration. He is a Certified Procurement Professional by the National Institute of Government Procurement (NIGP). He is also a Certified Public Procurement Officer and a Certified Professional Public Buyer by the Universal Public Procurement Certification Council. In 2015, Mr. Bauer was named Procurement Manager of the Year by the Arizona Chapter of the National Institute of Government Procurement; he was a Finalist for the National Manager of the Year.
