The Jackson Municipal Airport Authority Appoints Elshad Garayev, CFA, CPA as Chief Financial Officer

JACKSON, MS – The Jackson Municipal Airport Authority has named Elshad Garayev, CFA, CPA, as Chief Financial Officer. In this role, he will oversee all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, regulatory compliance, and financial analysis. He will also manage the organization’s investment portfolio, ensuring alignment with the Authority’s financial goals and risk tolerance. He began his new position on December 27, 2023.

With over 20 years of experience in finance leadership and controllership, Mr. Garayev brings a wealth of knowledge from his prior roles, including Principle of Finance, Operational Excellence Leader at Amazon, Subsidiary CFO for Boeing, CFO for RPK Capital and early career with BP. Most recently, he was Chief Financial Officer for Flora Growth, an emerging growth biopharmaceutical company. Mr. Garayev’s expertise spans aviation finance, e-commerce, investment management, and energy.

Mr. Garayev holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Houston and a Master’s Degree in Mathematics from Baku State University. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and holds certifications as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA).
