The Hillsborough County Aviation Authority Appoints Benjamin Robins as Vice President, Maintenance

TAMPA, FL – The Hillsborough County Aviation Authority has named Benjamin Robins as Vice President, Maintenance. In this role, Mr. Robins will be accountable for the safe, efficient and reliable operation of all airport-related facilities and systems. He began his position on February 28, 2022.

Bringing more than 22 years of aviation and strategic leadership experience, Mr. Robins has a long history of serving in the United States Air Force. His Air Force career culminated as the Vice Commander of MacDill Air Force Base in Florida. While at MacDill Air Force Base, he also served as the acting Base Commander for four months during a leadership transition period. In that role, he led a team of five executives and 4,400 personnel, administrating an annual budget exceeding $250M, while overseeing capital assets totaling more than $8B, and directly supporting 16,000 Defense Department personnel.

Mr. Robins earned his bachelor’s degree in History from the United States Air Force Academy. He went on to earn a master’s degree in History from the University of Nebraska, a master’s degree in National Security Strategy from National War College and a master’s degree in Policy Management from Georgetown University.
