Dan Sprinkle, A.A.E., is celebrating his five-year anniversary of being part of the ADK team. Dan’s role as a senior project manager is to ensure that our clients receive the highest level of customer service and to exceed their expectations for every search or project. Dan also ensures that our team members are always supported no matter what the task or deadline.

Dan’s favorite aspect of being part of the ADK team is working with creative, hard-working, and fun team members.  “The collaboration, camaraderie, and support from every team member is truly unique and not found in typical consulting firms or business settings.  The relationships I have built in a short time working with ADK far exceeds those I had working 25 years at a large airport.  Each team member takes the time to get to know each other personally and professionally which is why the ADK Team is so strong.”

What may surprise people about Dan is the Lindbergh connection. Yes, that Lindbergh. “I grew up next to the Lindbergh family on Bainbridge Island in Washington State.  Charles Lindbergh had 6 children and his oldest, Jon Morrow Lindbergh lived in a house next to ours on the shore of Manzanita Bay.  Jon and Barbara Lindbergh had 6 kids of their own and Eric and Morgan Lindbergh were a year older and a year younger than I was.  We spent most of our childhood years together enjoying the beach and waters of the bay by sailing, swimming and just hanging out.  I had the opportunity as a kid to meet Charles Lindbergh on several occasions as he and his wife Anne would visit their son Jon and their family.  I remember him being very tall, friendly, and truly humble.  It wasn’t until I got older did I really appreciate and understand everything he did for aviation and our country.  I still stay in touch with Eric and Morgan Lindbergh as they are life-long friends.”

Dan enjoys traveling and his favorite place is Munich Germany.  “The Bavarian lifestyle is so rich in culture and strong traditions.  The people are very friendly and open, and I have made several good friends from my work and leisure time in Munich.”

A resident of Denver, Colorado, this past year Dan started teaching at the Metropolitan State University.  He has always assisted students through guest lecturing, providing interviewing tips and mentoring and he decided to try teaching one course to see if he liked it.  The course Dan teaches is Airport Planning and Management II, which is the course that prepares one to take the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) Certified Member (CM) exam. “I will teach the course again in Spring of 2021 and I am looking forward to it.  I feel like I have a lot to bring to the students and they are very open to my long stories and words of advice.”

Dan has two house cats, Cyrus and Raptur.  Raptur is accurately named as he bites.  Dan tells us that he was never a cat person growing up, but these two cats have converted him into a cat person.  His hobbies include golf, water sports, anything with his two college-aged boys, snow skiing (former hobby), shooting, archery, camping, hiking, and baseball.

What does Dan know for sure? “I know that you should always stand up for what you believe in.  Doing the right thing is never easy but is necessary.  Set tough and far-reaching goals and have them in writing.  You will achieve them if they are in writing and you look at them.  I know nothing is more important than loving others and being loved.”
