April 21, 2020
BIRMINGHAM, AL – The Birmingham Airport Authority has named Korey Campbell as the new Chief Financial Officer. In this role, Mr. Campbell will direct and manage all financial and fiscal management functions of the Authority’s operations. He will also provide leadership and management of the administrative, business planning, accounting and budgeting efforts of the Authority. He will begin his new position on May 11, 2020.
Mr. Campbell brings 25 years of financial and project management experience to his new position with the Authority. He most recently served as Deputy Director for the Jefferson County Commission in Birmingham, Alabama, where he was responsible for the management of the Motor Vehicle Division of the Revenue Department. Mr. Campbell has also worked for Unison Consulting, Inc. His prior clients include 17 of the 50 largest North American commercial airports.
“When I left the city of Birmingham over two decades ago to attend graduate school and to start my career, I had no idea that I would end up in aviation finance, nor that I would return 25 years later and work for the Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport,” said Mr. Campbell. “To assume this position in the middle of a global crisis will be challenging, but I look forward to helping the airport get through and recover from the impact of the coronavirus pandemic. It is an honor to join the Birmingham Airport Authority at such a critical time in the airport’s nearly 90-year history.”
Mr. Campbell holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from The University of Alabama and a master’s degree in Business Administration from The University of Georgia.
