Birmingham Airport Authority Names Dr. Schavass Hamilton as Construction Manager

BIRMINGHAM, AL – The Birmingham Airport Authority has named Dr. Schavass Hamilton as Construction Manager for Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport (BHM). In this position, he will be responsible for implementing and managing the Airport’s $100 million construction program. Dr. Schavass began his new role on April 1, 2024.
Before retiring from 21 years of active U. S. Air Force service, Dr. Hamilton was responsible for leading all facets of Department of Defense (and some Department of State) aviation for Jordan. Most recently he was Superintendent, Joint Movement Coordination Center, U.S. Embassy in Jordan where he directed all air operations for the Department of Defense. While serving the U.S. Air Force, Mr. Hamilton also served as Airfield Management Functional Area Manager in South Carolina and Airfield Management Air Advisor in Afghanistan.

Dr. Schavass received a bachelor’s degree in Aviation Technology from Everglades University. He went on to earn a master’s degree in Business Administration from Western Governors University and a doctoral degree in Business Administration from Walden University.
