Michael Garnier Named Aviation Administrator by City of San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO, TX – The City of San Antonio has named Michael Garnier as Aviation Administrator for the San Antonio International Airport (SAT) and Stinson Municipal Airport (SSF). Mr. Garnier is a seasoned professional with expertise in improving business processes, reducing costs, initiating change management, and growing revenue. He began his new position in November 2020.
Mr. Garnier worked for Southwest Airlines for 14 years and most recently served as Senior Regional Leader of Airport Affairs. He also served as Senior Manager of Strategic Performance and Analysis, Manager of Airport Affairs, Station Manager, and Manager of Administration.
“I’m excited to join the team at San Antonio International Airport, which serves one of the largest and fastest growing cities in the United States” said Mr. Garnier. “I’m looking forward to being a part of the SAT team in the coming years where we will work to bring to fruition the improvements and expansion plans identified in the Strategic Development Plan. In addition to joining this great team, my family and I also look forward to taking in the rich culture and natural beauty of the San Antonio area.”
Mr. Garnier earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Excelsior College. He went on to receive a master’s degree in Business Administration and in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from California State University. He is also an Adjunct Professor in Business at Solano Community College in California.
