The City of Charlotte Appoints Phillip Florey as Airport Facilities Director
CHARLOTTE, NC – The City of Charlotte has named Phillip Florey as Airport Facilities Director. In this role, Mr. Florey will oversee and manage the field maintenance, building maintenance, vehicle maintenance, logistics, and housekeeping operations at Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT). He began his position in December 2021.
A senior executive with a proven work history of producing year-after-year organizational growth, development and enhancement through management techniques, Mr. Florey most recently worked for the Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority as Director of Maintenance. He was responsible for a $17.8 million budget, overseeing two general aviation facilities. Previously, he worked for The City of Dayton Department of Aviation as Director of Operations & Maintenance and for the Oklahoma City Department of Aviation as Director of Airport Maintenance. Mr. Florey has also served as Director of Aviation for the University of Central Missouri and Hutchinson Municipal Airport.
Mr. Florey earned his bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management and in History from Southern Illinois University. He is a Certified Facility Manager by the International Facility Management Association.
